Parents hand out goody bags to apologize in advance for baby on flight
Sat Dec 20, 2014
I love this! We took our son on his first flight (international no less) when he was 11 months old. A short domestic leg brought us compliments for his cheerful disposition and quiet travel status. The international leg (9 hours) brought shock and awe as people exited the plane having no idea there …
Why this 'car seat cop' mom wants to save your child's life
Mon Dec 8, 2014
While I am glad she is bringing attention to this issue - I am shocked at how little common sense apparently some people have. Looking at that photo of her child in the car seat was gut-wrenching to me as a mother of a 2.5 year old. WHY would you think the way that child was in the car seat (which w …
Mom dies during childbirth to save 'miracle' baby's life
Tue Nov 25, 2014
Prayers to this family - they will need a lot of love and support to heal from this tragedy. It is always so very sad to hear stories about a loss of life (mother's or child's) during childborth, which is supposed to mark the beginning of life - not the end.
Vegetables hit school lunch trays, but most kids don't bite
Mon Nov 17, 2014
In reply to: NOTHERNIL #4.1 If you choose to feed your kids pizza every day (and that is your choice), you are also choosing to neglect them nutritionally. MNPat is absolutely correct. Exposure to healthy options are a very young age sets the stage for smart, healthy eating habits as kids grow up. J …
Old Navy says 'unique fabrics,' design mean more expensive plus-size women's clothes
Wed Nov 12, 2014
As a petite person myself, I admit I've often wondered about pricing by size (size extremes, at least). It takes twice as much material to make a size 16 as it does to make a size 2. Now - do I believe that should people be penalized for being bigger boned (or simply bigger)? Absolutely not.
Are Young Voters Abandoning The Democrats? Not So Fast
Wed Oct 29, 2014
In reply to: robert-479699 #12 Not this woman - proud to be voting Republican on Tuesday. I've had enough of the BS tax and spend liberal nonsense, thank you. I worked hard to earn the career I have and the money I make. I give back to the community in MANY MANY ways, but I am sick of having my hard …
Nurse Kaci Hickox says she won't obey Maine's Ebola quarantine: I won't be 'bullied by politicians'

In reply to: upstate John #78 By all means - go visit her and make sure you get real close. Idiot.
Needles and dating: 8 things I wish I'd known before freezing my eggs
Thu Oct 23, 2014
I guess the real lesson here is perhaps that if you are still young enough (39) to get pregnant the old fashioned way - even if you did have eggs frozen - that may have been the better move. She would still have the frozen eggs IF she did meet and marry (the right man - though track record seems to …
Report: Autopsy Suggests Michael Brown Reached for Ferguson Officer's Gun
Wed Oct 22, 2014
In reply to: Tom in NH-294381 #158 Why did the original ME report "overlook" the fact that there was material evidence to show that Brown was shot in the hand at close range?
How to get your baby to sleep at night: Tips for exhausted parents
Tue Sep 16, 2014
We've done the dinner, wind down play time (trains, blocks, etc.), then bath, story time and snuggle time with our son since early on. It has obviously evolved a bit since he was a newborn (toddler now), but bedtime has been pretty easy for us - when we keep the routine in place. He began sleeping t …
